I do keep my promises. [ She's all smiles, too, running her hand down his side as he kisses her. ] You should get this kind of welcome every time.

Well, maybe I'll start letting myself in for these kinda welcomes more often. How long does the trip have to be? Grocery stores count? [ He's teasing, bright and playful, fingers stroking softly down her spine, brushing a kiss against her cheek. ]

Grocery store definitely counts. And not just because that means you're probably bringing me food -- but, like, we both know I love when you feed me. [ Becca cuddles in more at those soft touches, nuzzling into his shoulder. ] I'm always happy to see you, babe.

[soicantlose]

It's a deal, then. I'll just start stopping by any time I go -- anywhere. Get a few kisses, see how my girl's doing... [ He bumps a kiss against the top of her head, giving a little shrug. ] Sounds like a good plan to me.

[cafeultra]

This is a big reason why I gave you the keys, actually. So you could stop by any time you want. [ It's slightly teasing, but all warmth and affection. She sighs happily, squeezing him in a gentle hug. ] I like being your girl.

[soicantlose]

You're all mine, babe. [ Warm and happy. He nuzzles at her, fingers drifting up to toy with her hair affectionately. ] I like getting to keep you.

Good, I'm keeping you, too. All mine. [ Her eyes close, though she's not as sleepy anymore. She's just relaxed, as she usually is when Nate's around. Especially when he's holding her like this. ] Love you, baby.

Love you too. [ He's more than happy to just hold on to her, relaxing now that the job is done and he's back to Becca. It's not unusual for him to be a little tense after jobs, even if everything goes well, but right now? It's hard to imagine being anything but comfortable, with her this close.

He'll go quiet for a few moments, just cuddling her, but he is pretty awake, and he'll ask eventually, voice low in case she's started fallen asleep: ] I miss anything interesting while I was gone? [ As if he hadn't been talking to her for the last day or so. ]

[ Nate being home has given her a little bit of a second wind, so she's not all that sleepy anymore. Just utterly content to lay in his arms. ]

Not really? It was pretty quiet here. [ And with faint amusement in her tone, ] I didn't get spooked without you this time. Did it all go well while you were gone?

[soicantlose]

Yeah, it was fine. No big problems. [ A moment's consideration, before he offers: ] I finished up last night after I talked to you, mostly. Just -- had to talk to someone this morning, unfortunately, so I couldn't leave then.

[cafeultra]

[ She hadn't really expected any sort of detail, or explanation, but ultimately she's glad for whatever he does decide to share. Her head tilts up so she can kiss his forehead. ] I'm just glad you got home safe. All that matters is that you get back to me.

[soicantlose]

[ He tips into her to nuzzle lightly at her neck, considers his wording for a moment before he answers. ] I always do my best.

[ He can't promise he'll never make a mistake, that nothing will ever happen, as much as he'd like to. But he can say that much honestly. ]

[cafeultra]

[ She brings a hand up to softly pet through his hair, holding on a little tighter. Of course he can't promise he'll always make it back, she's not naive enough to think that, but she can certainly believe him when he says he'll always do his best.

Her face turns, brushing a kiss against the side of his head. ] And you'll always have the best welcome I can give.

[soicantlose]

The best thing to come back for.

[ It's the first thing he's really had to come back for in a while, and that's -- strange, to think about. Nate's been going for so long with so little care for his own survival that having something good is going to crash into him a little, the next time he gets hurt on the job.

But for now, it's mostly just a nice thought. He kisses softly at her throat, fondly, squeezing her a little tighter in a brief hug. ]

I love you so much, babe. [ She's relieved that he doesn't seem to be hurt at all this time around. The first aid kit can stay in its place, thankfully, and she doesn't have to worry about being too gentle with her cuddles. Which is nice, because she's extra snuggle after missing him the night before.

She sighs at those kisses, head tilting back. There's no urgency, no real urge to press for more. For one in her life, she's absolutely content to just... cuddle. Nate has accomplished what basically no one else has, somehow. And she's loving every second of it. ] Mm, yours are the best hugs.

[soicantlose]

I know, baby. I love you too.

[ He's perfectly happy to keep things soft and easy for right now, just feeling affectionate and warm after having to be apart. A couple of days isn't even that long, all things considered, but that didn't stop him from missing her plenty. He'll leave a few more light kisses against her neck before just nuzzling into her, content, eyes closing with a little hum. ] Yeah? Well, good thing you can have them whenever you want, then.

[ And she's just as happy to hold him, let him nuzzle into her. It occurs to her that maybe he needs this after his jobs, and she's so glad she can be that for him. They can offer each other that safe place.

There's no one she's ever felt safer with, in every way. The frequency of her I love yous are proof of that, whether he's aware of it or not.

She lets her hand slip lower to run softly up and down his back, hoping to be as soothing as he is with her. That always calms her, especially when she's top anxious to fall asleep. He just has that way with her. ]

Well, what if I want all of them, all the time?

[soicantlose]

Then all of them are yours, babe.

[ The way he relaxes under her touch is obvious, slumping into her that much more, breathing even and body loose. Safety isn't something Nate gives a lot of thought to in general, but Becca brings him comfort in a way he doesn't think anyone else ever has before. Makes him feel like he's in the right place, for maybe the first time in his life. ]

All of me is yours already.

[ She absolutely loves to feel him relaxing beside her, loves knowing she can bring him that kind of peace. Spoiling him can work this way, too. Her head leans softly against his, sighing quietly, hand slipping under his shirt to trace circles against his lower back. ]

Good. I don't think it'd go very well if I had to share you at all.

[soicantlose]

That's okay. [ He laughs a little, pleased, shifting just enough so he can look up at her. Lowers his voice playfully, like he's telling her a secret. ] I'm really bad at sharing, anyway. So I think it works out better this way.

[cafeultra]

[ Becca just grins up at him when he shifts away, absolutely smitten. She helps herself to a short and sweet kiss. ] It's not pretty when I get jealous. And you definitely don't have to share me. You're all I could ever want.

[soicantlose]

Yeah. I feel the same way. [ His expression is soft, looking at her like she hung the moon, and he kisses her again quickly. ] I don't think you're ever gonna have anything to be jealous of, anyway. You're amazing.

[cafeultra]

[ The way he's looking back at her just has her even more head over heels. She melts at the kiss, chasing to briefly lean her forehead against his. ] You're amazing. Even my closest friends don't have keys to my apartment.

[soicantlose]

Yeah? You really know how to make a guy feel special. [ He's teasing, a little, but it's also impossible to miss how pleased he is, being the only one who gets this kind of access to her life. It's a possessive feeling, but since when is that new? ]

My favorite gets all the special treatment. [ Yeah, she can see how happy it makes him, and that just has her all but floating with joy. One more kiss, this time lingering slightly, all those happy and loving feelings behind it. ]
