Smart woman. And I promise you that I really do get it. I mean, there's a reason I got all hot under the collar for a man who beats up thugs wearing a mask, and kissed him without knowing his name or what he looks like.

And between the two of us I'm definitely the one more likely to get into the really bad kind of trouble. Not trying to be a hypocrite here. Guess I'm just a bit protective of you.

I mean-- if the opportunity to do that presented itself to me, I'd probably do the same thing.

[ Definitely no judgement on that. Kissing a mystery masked man who beats people up sounds like something she'd write in one of her trashy novels, actually. ]

I'll share my ice pack if you need it. This bag of peas has helped soothe many coffee machine burns.

Maybe I should get an actual ice pack, though.

How exactly does one run into that guy, anyway? I'm not going to try, I'm just curious.

I don't think that's a mess I'd want to be involved in, to be honest. And I do love some messes.

Then again, there are plenty of messes in this city that might be interesting to write about.

No, I don't think it'd be your preferred kind of mess. This city is full of stories though, you're right about that.

It might be a little more journalistic than I'm used to, but maybe it's something worth exploring. Could be interesting... and exciting.

What sort of stuff would you want to write about?

[cafeultra]

I already write about crime, hauntings, anything kind of dark or weird? And... Gotham seems to be just the place for that sort of thing.

[pilfeline]

Feels like there's nothing to this city but crime sometimes. You won't have to look hard to find dark and weird.

[cafeultra]

It's a lot of why I was drawn to move here. Thought it would be a cool place to live. And it turns out I was right. I mean, I got to meet you.

I can be pretty charming when I want to be. Fortunately with you, I want to be.

What? I do like you. [ She looks a little confused, and a little worried. Talking about her feelings has never been her strong suit. ]
